One thing people don’t always talk about is how hard it can be balancing school with real life responsibilities. I’m not a teenager fresh out of high school. I’m balancing college while also being a husband, a father, and trying to build a future career at the same time. Some days I feel completely drained mentally. Between assignments, deadlines, finances, and family responsibilities, it can get heavy fast, but at the same time, school has also given me purpose again. I think being older in college changes your perspective, you take projects more seriously because you know what’s at stake. Every assignment feels connected to real opportunities instead of just a grade. That mindset has honestly made me work harder than I probably ever have before.
