Building Confidence in Illustrator

Building Confidence in Illustrator

Illustrator used to intimidate me honestly. When I first opened the program, it felt overwhelming trying to understand paths, anchor points, clipping masks, layers, and all the different tools. But after working on more branding and campaign projects, I’m finally starting to feel more comfortable with it. I still have moments where I get stuck, but I’ve learned that experimentation is one of the fastest ways to improve. Some of my favorite designs actually came from mistakes or random ideas while experimenting. I think learning design software is a lot like learning a language. At first it feels overwhelming, but eventually things start becoming second nature through repetition.
